Position: Permanent, 0.4 FTE (18.5 hours per week)
Salary: £25,360 - £35,996 (actual salary £10,144 - £14,398 per annum)

The group is currently home to a population of over 5,000 full-time students and around 500 students on higher education programmes. We have over 4,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.
We are looking for a Lecturer in Visual Studies within our Academic & Creative team.
Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring lecturer who has a proven record of innovation and a pro-active approach to delivery. You will have also demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and used this to help them reach their true potential.
Based in our Art, Design & Media Studies department, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player. As well as relevant experience, you will be qualified with an Illustration, Fine Art or related degree. You will also have or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification (DTLLS or equivalent).
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To deliver high quality Visual Studies based teaching, including direct observational studies and more experimental mixed media and print based studies, on a range of courses, primarily at Levels 2 and 3.
- Play an active role in the marketing of the College and the Department through such activities as open days and through liaison with local employers and schools.
- Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Has a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS) or willingness to obtain.
- a solid understanding of both Illustration practice and strong observational drawing ability
- Ideally has relevant teaching experience at level 2 and 3.
- Technical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
- Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.
