The Post We are seeking a suitably qualified applicant for the Secondment post of Lecturer in Primary Education in the Initial Teacher Education Programme. The successful candidate will be passionate about learning and teaching and will teach across the entire initial teacher education programme at Stirling. The post holder will have significant expertise and experience in primary teaching and will be currently working as a primary teacher in Scotland with full GTCS registration. Applicants should demonstrate strengths in at least one area of the primary curriculum, and have relevant teaching experience, including responsibility for designing provision. They should demonstrate understanding of and commitment to and the Scottish context and to pedagogical innovation. Description of Duties Contribute to the design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including online/digital programmes, where required Contribute to the enhancement of the quality of teaching provision and programme development, drawing on leading practices from the HE sector Demonstrate a broad understanding of effective approaches to teaching and learning support as key contributions to high quality student learning Contribute to enhancement of the student experience and employability Essential Criteria Qualifications Registered as a primary teacher by the General Teaching Council for Scotland and working as a teacher in Scotland Knowledge, Skills & Experience Experience or knowledge to design, deliver, assess and evaluate modules in Initial Teacher Education Demonstrate an understanding of or provide evidence of developing effective approaches to teaching and learning, student support and guidance Experience or knowledge of approaches to enhance the student experience For further information, including a full description of duties, essential criteria and details on how to apply, please see Jobs.ac.uk
