Job description

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic healthcare professionals to join our paramedic team and to contribute to the provision of high-quality teaching within the School of Allied Health and Midwifery.

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic healthcare professionals to join our paramedic team and to contribute to the provision of high-quality teaching within the School of Allied Health and Midwifery. You will teach primarily across modules on the pre-registration paramedic programme that has been written to support the West Midlands Ambulance Service student paramedic pathway. You may also be asked to teach on relevant post-registration CPD courses. You will need to be committed to the maintenance of high academic standards and enhancement of the student experience and be prepared to contribute to the development of the faculty’s portfolio of courses, linking with relevant external partners, and the generation of external income for the University. We are committed to improving diversity in our paramedic teaching team and would welcome applications from BAME candidates. We are happy to consider applications for part-time working for those who are unable or not ready to commit to a full-time career in higher education at this stage of their career.

You will be educated to a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent and preferably have completed, or be willing to work towards, a Masters qualification and a post-graduate certificate in education. You will hold current registration with the HCPC or the NMC and have significant clinical experience in paramedic practice or an urgent/emergency care setting. Experience of teaching in a clinical or academic setting is essential and candidates with a research profile are welcomed. Dedication to innovative teaching and research activities within paramedic practice are also a requirement of the post, in order to contribute towards the paramedic portfolio and the profile of the faculty.
