Job description
Lecturer in Media and Communications
Arts & Creative Industries - School of Media & Communications
We are seeking a versatile media academic with specialist knowledge of videogames to deliver key components of our innovative courses.
Initially you will be required to teach across a range of disciplines, including English, cultural studies and journalism modules with a growing focus on game studies and digital culture as we expand our curriculum in areas such as Esports and around the intersection of games, film-making and media technologies.
You will play a key role in devising and delivering curriculum and will be expected to make a contribution to our research culture, ideally in games studies - a key area of growth identified in our latest REF submission. You will be a collaborative academic, keen to link up with industry partners and other regional stakeholders in keeping with our professions-facing culture.
The successful candidate will be supported to develop their research and will access professional development opportunities to support their progression towards senior lecturer level. And there is an opportunity for early career academics to earn a teaching qualification in their first year with us.
