Job description
The Department of Marketing wishes to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Marketing to further strengthen and develop our world leading research and educational activities. This is an opportunity to join a vibrant and collegiate environment within an international team, and a great place to build a career.
You must be able to contribute to our research and engagement, preferably in the ‘market dynamics’ group, with demonstrable scholarly or educational activity in the areas of markets, marketing or digital strategy, or sustainable innovation and design led thinking. Candidates must possess relevant knowledge to contribute to teaching in areas pertinent to digital marketing.
The Department of Marketing is part of Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), a leading UK management school. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, LUMS was ranked first in the UK for research power and was one of only two schools to attain 100% evaluation of our research environment. We are one of a select group of management schools accredited by all three international business school accreditation bodies: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. As an influential management school, we recognise that we have a responsibility to help make the world a better place through our research, and to transform the lives of our students. Join us as we fulfil our responsibility to deliver research, teaching and engagement that makes a positive impact on society. Become part of a community using academic excellence to respond to societal needs, find solutions to research grand challenges, and help develop the responsible managers of the future.
We are one of the largest groups of Marketing academics in the UK, with a reputation for world class research in our two research groupings: Market Dynamics and Consumer Research. Our department is committed to teaching excellence at a university awarded Gold in the UK government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). We pride ourselves on delivering a curriculum that is contemporary and theoretically informed whilst nurturing practical skills and career prospects.
The university’s campus is located on the outskirts of the historic market town of Lancaster, which is also easily accessible from Manchester. The Lake District and other areas of stunning beauty are on the University’s doorstep.
We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, and to the Athena SWAN Charter that recognises good employment practice that address equality issues in higher education. We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
