The Department of Psychology and Human Development brings together staff with research and teaching interests that encompass psychological approaches to learning, development and teaching from early childhood to adulthood. Our psychology profile is distinctive, offering the largest coherent group of psychologists in the UK, working in the area of education and child and adolescent development. Our expertise in SEND informs both our teaching and our research. About the role
We are looking for a unique and ambitious individual with a background in inclusive education, developmental differences and autism. This individual will contribute to our teaching offerings including co-leading our Research and Statistics modules, supporting other modules as needed, leading their own research and supervising students. You will teach in the areas of research methodologies, including both qualitative and quantitative methods, teaching and marking on modules focused on inclusive education and special education needs.
In addition, you will use a range of diverse monitoring and evaluation techniques to assess the effectiveness of course delivery and contribute to quality assurance and quality improvement within the developing frameworks of UCL and respective national agencies such as the British Psychological Society (BPS).
About you
With an earned doctorate in education, psychology or closely related area, you will have a developing research profile, reflected in publications in high-quality journals and suitable for inclusion in Research Excellence Framework (REF) evaluations. Evidence of teaching and research specialisms in research methods and/or inclusive education with a focus on developmental differences and working with schools, families, and children.
