We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated individual to join our successful academic team teaching on our BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree at the Institute of Arts.
This role will primarily involve teaching typography across our four years of Graphic Design education provision, from the Integrated Foundation Level to Level 6 students. We offer a contemporary design education with an emphasis on industry opportunities for our students. Part of the role will be to build links and networks with partners including the use of social networking platforms and develop opportunities for our students’ experience.
The BA (Hons) Graphic Design programme is a central pillar of education offered at the Institute of Arts. Under recent new leadership the programme is being developed and enjoys a rich design studio environment shared with the BA (Hons) Illustration programme. The successful candidate will be an active and engaged member of the wider learning community that supports all students to be ambitious and achieve.
The role will involve teaching both in studio and classroom settings. We offer a number of modules that are multidisciplinary and you will be able to teach common skills across a range of art and design subjects. These skills will include typography, problem solving, idea generation, visual communication and presentation skills.
The successful applicant will be experienced with a range of digital packages currently being used in the Graphic Design industry and be confident in being able to share those skills with our students and enable them to select the best digital tools for each project brief they embark upon. They will be self-motivated, show initiative and be enthusiastic about Graphic Design for both the student and their client.
