Job description
You will have teaching and research expertise that complements current activity within the Geographic Data Science Lab (GDSL) research group (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/geographic-data-science/) and links to other research groups across the School, and particularly Planning, Environmental Assessment and Management and the Power Space and Cultural Change research groups (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/geography-and-planning/research/). We are especially interested in applicants with a strong teaching track record in Geographic Information Systems and Quantitative Human Geography across one or more of the following areas of Geography: retail, population, urban analytics, spatial modelling, human mobility, transport, spatial inequality and geographic data science.
Applicants with a background in machine learning / artificial intelligence (AI) in Human Geography are welcomed. We are one of the largest and longest established UK Geography and Planning departments, ranked 14th for Research Power (REF2021) with an international reputation for research excellence where 36% of our publications rated as world-leading (4\*) and our research environment ranked joint 8th of 56 comparator UK Departments (REF2021). The post has the potential to align strategically with the University¿s Digital, `Starting well, Living well, Ageing well¿, Personalised health, and Climate Futures research themes.
