The School of Finance and Accounting is continuing its expansion and seeking to recruit talented individuals to meet its emerging priorities for delivering teaching excellence. The financial services sector is evolving in the areas of smart and digital technology. The school is re-imagining its staffing provision to meet future student employment trends by building and acquiring expertise in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, or financial information systems.
The school proudly hosts an Accounting and Finance master’s course and two UG Accounting programmes. These subject areas are the University’s star performers. Many of our Accounting degrees incorporate professional candidate bodies of knowledge in their syllabuses. We are affiliated or hold academic partner statuses with the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
The ideal candidates will have a keen interest to teach students in a digital-led learning environment. You will be expected to demonstrate strong competencies and expertise in the following areas, namely: core accounting subject areas including auditing, management accounting, financial reporting, accounting theory, and auditing.
You will join a team of highly qualified lecturers and researchers. The successful candidates are expected to be capable of working harmoniously in a close team-based environment, fully supporting management, and showing capabilities of taking on academic leadership responsibilities.
You will be expected to contribute to our ambitious drive for growth and for meeting our student employability goals. A progressive, compassionate, and responsible set of personal values are desirable along with strong personal attributes to work harmoniously with our staff and student communities. You will contribute to the planning, design and development of courses, modules, and assessment.
As a Lecturer, you will have or are working towards completing a PhD or appropriate relevant work experience in the profession and/or industry, supported by evidence, which demonstrates you are an expert with an authoritative understanding of your specialised field or discipline. You will also be working towards or hold a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. You will have gained this knowledge through very broad and extensive experience, having built on a sound understanding of concepts and principles, through your wide and significant exposure to complex practices and precedents, within either industry, consultancy, or private practice.
