The School of Advanced Study – a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence in the promotion and facilitation of research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. It comprises eight internationally renowned research institutes as well as centres in Digital Humanities and Public Engagement. It has four nationally and internationally recognised specialist research libraries.
The Institute of Commonwealth Studies (ICwS) sits at the crossroads of research, policy, human rights practice and international relations. Its vision is that people around the world, including throughout the modern Commonwealth, live in societies grounded in democracy, human rights and the rule of law. The Institute contributes towards this vision by developing effective, evidence-based policy solutions to the challenges facing the modern Commonwealth; supporting the modern Commonwealth's global network of civil society; engaging with Commonwealth stakeholders, including its Member States; and offering MA and PhD programmes in human rights.
The Role
The post holder will be expected to deliver teaching within the area of international human rights law (postgraduate), both on campus and by distance learning and contribute to the research and policy activities of the Institute of Commonwealth Studies (ICwS) and Human Rights Consortium (HRC) in line with the strategic aims of the School of Advanced Study.
