JOB PURPOSE:
We are looking for an outstanding teacher who is motivated and committed to the success of their students. If you can bring IT to life in a way that engages, inspires and leads to high achievement, then you will be successful here at NHC.
You will develop and deliver dynamic learning programmes that meet the needs of learners and utilise a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies. You will plan and deliver Digital curriculum in a group setting to learners of varying abilities. We are particularly interested in recruiting lecturers with a programming background and current industry experience as we prepare for the sector developments for technical education and launch our new T-Level suite in 23-24.
Developments in Digital @ NHC
We have exciting developments underway across our Digital curriculum at NHC with the introduction of the T Level in Digital starting in September 2023. As part of the introduction of this new qualification, we are refurbishing our facilities for delivery of T Levels and for use across our courses. This includes three new digital suites with high spec machines to meet the delivery requirements of the new curriculum, refurbished IT rooms across the campus, a new eSports and gaming facility and an upgrade to our networking rooms. Through a recent Strategic Development Fund project, we have invested heavily in new equipment to support the delivery of Digital skills across the curriculum; including VR headsets, omni directional treadmills, 360 degree cameras, razer blade laptops and new software for use on these devices.
We have been heavily investing in upskilling our staff and developing strong links with a number of large employers nationally and within the local area, such as Computacenter, CISCO, Open University, Microsoft, University of Hertfordshire, Willmott Dixon, Ocado, Hertfordshire British Computing Society, NHS and Newvu, who have helped shape our curriculum delivery. We also work closely with these companies to deliver the programmes for our students to support their transition between college and employment.
