At Arden University, we pride ourselves on being true innovators, disruptors and pioneers, our focus is to promote life-long learning and ensure that everyone, everywhere can access higher education. We are currently looking for a Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes to join our English Language Hub.
We are seeking a qualified, experienced EAP practitioner, with a proven track record of creating and delivering L2 English provision in HE contexts. This is an exciting time to join this growing department and be involved in the creation, development and delivery of projects from the outset. As such, we are seeking a passionate, committed Lecturer with a can-do attitude who can use their EAP expertise to support both Arden students and the wider ambitions of the English Language Hub.
This role will include the development of material and delivery of our Level 4 ESAP modules to support students studying Healthcare, Law, Psychology, Business Management, and/or Computing programmes as well as our general EAP provision including timetabled classes and optional one-to-one appointments and academic English workshops. This is a true hybrid role, with some visits to campus, but also teaching online and work remotely. There may be some evening and/or weekend teaching in the future.
You will develop and teach EAP/ESAP courses, ensuring high levels of student outcomes. This includes associated operational administration, teaching, curriculum development and quality management.
The successful candidate will ideally be in post by late August 2023.
About You:
You will be CELTA qualified (or equivalent) with a completed postgraduate degree, in English, in a relevant subject (English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL) and experienced in teaching EAP in HE contexts (minimum of 2 years’ EAP experience).
