Do you have what it takes to work one of the top 5% of schools nationally?
If so, we want to hear from you!
We are seeking to appoint a well-motivated, resourceful individual who will take on the responsibility of supervising students in a variety of situations, including covering lessons when teachers are absent, facilitating learning and assessing their progress.
We are oversubscribed in Year 7 every year which reflects the first-class facilities we have on site as well as our fantastic students and staff who make the school a great place to learn. We pride ourselves on achieving outstanding outcomes in a school with an inclusive ethos that has superb pastoral care and a strong commitment to staff mental health and work-life balance.
Baysgarth continues to be a Good school that is ‘making good progress on the journey to outstanding’ according to Ofsted, who visited most recently in January 2023. Inspectors described the school to “have created an inclusive community” where “pupils are well cared for”, “have access to a wide range of enrichment opportunities”, “benefit from high-quality teaching”, along with having access to “a range of experiences that go beyond the national curriculum…experiences that they may not otherwise have had”. Leadership and governance is strong, with “a clear vision” and “high expectations”. Baysgarth is consistently one of the top performing schools in the Humber region and it is our mission to recruit the most talented staff to cement our excellent reputation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing lesson cover for absent colleagues
- Leading tutorial sessions, including registration
- Team teaching and providing support to teaching colleagues
- Developing a bank of work for curriculum areas to use in supervised lessons and activities
- Providing 1:1 and small group academic support
The following qualifications and experience are essential:
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C or above
- Experience of working with students, preferably within a secondary school
- Experience of responding to and adjusting supervised activities to meet the needs of students
- Experience of using various ICT packages and software (ideally Google Suite) to support students’ learning
- Utilising a range of behaviour management strategies confidently and effectively
Baysgarth School is an 11-16 comprehensive with approximately 970 pupils on roll; a number that will rise to over 1,000 in the next few years. The successful candidate will be expected to have pride, passion, positivity and vision and a desire to ensure the school has the highest possible reputation in the local community and beyond.
Baysgarth School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS.
