Learning and Development Manager

GSK make and supply medicines and vaccines all around the globe and our teams own every production stage, from creating quality products at our manufacturing sites to designing effective supply forecasting and regulatory inspections; all powered by digital, data and analytics. We operate at impressive scale, producing over 2.3 billion packs of medicines and doses of vaccines in 2022.

In this role you will…
Responsible for planning, prioritising and allocating L&D resource to ensure that staff training is completed in accordance with all compliance, safety and business requirements
Maintain a compliant training programme for the site. Stay informed and up to date with GSK and industry compliance requirements and embed these at site to ensure audit readiness
Ensure learning and development solutions are developed and deployed using GSK global frameworks, standards, systems and processes
Develop, in partnership with the site leadership team, an L&D strategy that clearly defines capability priorities in line with the business agenda
Broker resources and/or capabilities to develop agreed solutions i.e. partnering with business subject matter experts or technical workplace trainers. This includes interfacing with the external supply base where appropriate
Support the development, deployment and embedding of GSK capability models and frameworks
Coach and advise line managers and employees on the L&D service offerings, capability standards & their effective application. Ensure offerings are communicated in a clear and accessible manner
Develop and measure appropriate and useful KPIs for reporting at site and above site
Drive continuous improvement and eliminate waste by coaching and encouraging the L&D Team in following GPS principles, including performance management & CI at the Gemba

Why you?
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of experience
Scientific, engineering, business skills or training qualifications preferred
This role requires an ability to manage complex projects and to communicate and influence at a senior level
To demonstrate the appropriate level of scientific and technical understanding.
Knowledge and experience of the learning process i.e. learning needs assessment, design & delivery and learning evaluation & assessment.
Proven ability to interpret customer needs and translate these into a coherent programme of work.
Track record of project management skills and proven delivery of small to medium scale projects.
Experience of leading development initiatives i.e. training, coaching
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Financial acumen.
The ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with the need to manage constant change.
Ability to build relationships quickly and credibly.
Experience of working within a complex, matrixed environment.
