Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for new Learning Designers to join our Learning Design team at CEG Digital!
We have x3 vacancies available and the roles can be available on full-time and part-time, permanent basis. The roles will be Homebased in the United Kingdom.
Reporting to the Learning Design Manager (LDM), the holder of the Learning Designer (LD) position will be responsible for developing, guiding and reviewing the learning design for online modules, ensuring that they are effective, efficient and engaging for students.
Working with these diverse stakeholders and others, the LD will need to show great skill in communication, relationship-building and project management. The post-holder should understand the cultural nuances of UK higher education in general as they will spend much of their time working collaboratively with academic staff to scope and plan modules, plus produce learning content. This will involve providing ad hoc, 1:1 consultancy and support, plus identifying the need for informal professional development, as and when appropriate.
The post-holder must possess excellent learning design skills and a passion for learning, plus an awareness of web design and development techniques and a proven ability to build and maintain productive, enjoyable, collaborative-working relationships with both academic and technical colleagues.
Key responsibilities:
- Design multiple online modules, all the way from initial structure/outline, down to detailed week-by-week storyboarding of content, activities and assessments.
- Ensure that the learning design for all online programmes is focused squarely on helping our students to achieve course learning outcomes and meet their personal learning goals.
- Lead learning design planning/progress meetings with academic staff and other stakeholders.
- Employ principles of effective learning design throughout design and development phases, to ensure modules/courses consistently meet defined quality standards.
- Establish a personal reputation and a sector profile as a credible expert in the development of online learning experiences.
- To work in collaboration with, and actively support the quality practices of, partner Universities.
Aspects we will be looking for:
- Undergraduate degree (Essential)
- Postgraduate degree in a related subject (preferably in Education, Writing / Communication or Languages) (Desirable)
- Experience working in a deadline-driven production environment (Essential)
- Experience working in education or training, preferably within Higher Education (Essential)
- Experience working or studying in online education or training (Essential)
- Familiarity with LMS/VLEs (e.g. Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard) (Essential)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing (Essential)
- Ability to manage relationships within a team and across teams (Essential)
- Ability to work with and advise diverse stakeholders at a variety of levels (Essential)
