Early Pattern (2 posts) & Late Pattern (1 post)– operating from Motor Services, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh. The successful candidates will be required to work the either of the following work patterns, dependant on position: Early work pattern; Monday to Thursday 0600 - 1430, Friday 0600 - 1400. & Late work pattern; Monday to Thursday 1430 - 2300. Friday 1430 - 2230.
These are high profile posts and as a representative of the Scottish Government you will ensure your personal appearance is maintained at all times. A flexible approach to duties is required as you may be required to carry out overtime when the schedule dictates.
- Duties will involve driving senior personnel on Government business; this will require an excellent knowledge of the Scottish road network.
- You will be required to provide a professional secure chauffeuring service to all our customers, this includes providing support to your customers by taking messages and responding in the appropriate manner, offering travel advice, sharing knowledge with your customers and colleagues, and assisting with luggage. Forward planning of journeys is essential to ensure official vehicle arrives on time for collections and customers are transported in a safe and comfortable manner.
- You will be responsible for your allocated vehicle, maintaining it in a clean and roadworthy condition. This will include undertaking daily vehicle inspections and ensuring that any faults are reported to the fleet managers immediately. You will be responsible for accurately completing vehicle log sheets and job sheets.
- You will also assist in transporting of vehicles to and from suppliers for service and repairs.

Essential Criteria & Qualifications:
A clean full driving licence is preferred. Applicants must have passed either the Institute of Advanced Motorists, ROSPA advanced driving award or are willing to work towards completion of either.
