About the role


We are looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our Global HR team to lead on a variety of global projects and programmes here at National Grid, initially focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion training and the use of assessments amongst others.



Using your learning and development experience you’ll support the Head of Performance and Development Solutions to design a strong and coherent global learning and development strategy that meets the needs of the business.



Partnering with key stakeholders, you’ll also help align the performance, engagement and leadership development strategies to drive performance levels and identify opportunities to create multi-faceted interventions to enable performance.
Using your excellent networking skills, you’ll proactively leverage key external networks to keep abreast of external best practice, collate benchmarking metrics and make continual improvement recommendations to the leadership teams.


Working collaboratively with the HR Business Partners and Communications colleagues, you’ll drive learning and development solutions, make sure key activities are understood and embedded and, develop tailored communications to support the performance and development strategy.

About you


  • Expertise and experience in learning and development and leadership training.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, designing, implementing, and maintaining performance and development processes and approaches.
  • Experience of managing projects or programmes of work.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and ability to influence others.
  • Ability to think and operate at both tactical and strategic levels and to create simplicity and transparency.
  • Excellent presentation and strong facilitation skills.
  • Evidence of excellent relationship building ability across a wide variety of audiences and situations.
  • Ability to successfully prioritise and handle multiple tasks – strong project management capability, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Knowledge of Talent Assessment ideally

What we can offer you


A competitive salary of £62,000 - £70,000 per annum– dependant on experience
