About us
Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.
It is an exciting and important time to be joining us at Crisis. We work with thousands of people across England, Scotland and Wales so they can leave homelessness behind for good. We have recently adapted the way our services work to maximise our impact in ending homelessness. We have increased our capacity to work with people one to one and also strengthened our ability to support those people facing the most barriers to preventing or ending their homelessness.
About the role
As one of the Lead Workers (Coaching), you will deliver high quality individualised support and coaching that enables service users to ultimately leave homelessness behind. You will empower service users to access and engage with the help they need, developing plans to achieve their goals and end their homelessness.
The key to success will be your ability to make collaborative, consistent and Psychologically Informed relationships with service users and colleagues. You will also be a consistent and clear point of contact for that member, leading on the support to meet the members’ needs to end their homelessness for good. You will provide support with practical aspects of their route out of homelessness, including access to housing, access to benefits and other relevant issues. You will Lead Work a caseload and provide effective case management in line with the Crisis agreed Crisis Case Management Framework.
About you
The successful candidates will:
- be passionate about and dedicated to ending homelessness
- have a good knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation
- have a good knowledge of issues affecting homeless people, including housing, welfare issues, trauma, substance use, involvement in criminal justice services, and social isolation
- have a proven track record of successfully using coaching, IAG or psychologically informed approaches with people who have experience homelessness
- have skills and experience in partnership working and networking
- be flexible and adaptable to change
- be a strong team player, able to use their own initiative and reflect on their own practice
- have previous experience in the voluntary or statutory sector with a focus on working alongside marginalised people or groups.
