The Lead UX Researcher will impact the shape and future of a newly created global Product Experience function that benefits from significant strategic support from Senior Leadership.
WITHIN YOUR TEAM
Working in Videojet, a Danaher Company, the Lead UX Researcher will join the new Product Experience Design (PXD) team, and our vision is to enable innovation through design and human-centered insights. A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY:
Our journey as a team is in its infancy, however, it has significant support from our Senior Leadership Team as a strategic priority. As the first Researcher on the team, you will report to the Director of Product Experience to help shape and define the team and discipline from the ground up.
You will be responsible for all things Research related and serve as the go-to subject matter expert. You will have the scope and freedom to influence and make your mark., not only on the products we design, but how we play within the organisation. You won’t be alone in this journey, you’ll also have all the support you need from your team, and our senior leadership.
WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:
Work at all stages of the research and design process, from early discovery through to design validation & post-launch analysis on both software & hardware.
Work with designers & the PXD Director to plan, set up, execute synthesize and report out on global research activities.
Prioritise research findings and requirements into must, should, and could have, balancing business, and customer needs.
Help define best-in-class tools and processes (Research Ops) to ensure we design and develop solutions that solve customer problems quickly & reliably.
Get to know our customers and users inside out. Understand their workflows, their jobs, pains, and desired gains.
Collaborate with all areas of the business; Product Planning, Product Management, R&D, Sales, Service, Senior Leaders, and manufacturing.

Based within a 3 hour commute of our Huntingdon, Cambridge office and able to travel globally (Up to 20%). R&D Hubs: US, UK, and GER. Global Customer Base: Americas, Europe & Asia.
YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:
At least 6 years of experience working as a UX Researcher.
An educational background (Bachelor, MSc or PhD) is preferred, in any of the following areas: Experimental/Social/Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors Engineering, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
Experience planning and executing cross-disciplinary design workshops.
Experience applying a wide range of Quant & Qual research methodologies & techniques (Contextual Enquiry, Usability Testing, Diary Studies, Remote Interviews, personas, journey mapping, competitor analysis etc) to achieve the research objectives and help inform the strategic decisions that need to be made.
Experience working within cross-disciplinary teams.
