Job Description
JOB TITLE: Lead Project Manager - Commercial Programmes
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time (35 hours per week)
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
About this opportunity
As a Lead Project manager, you will be part of our Commercial Programmes Platform, within Commercial Banking Delivery. Our mission is to unlock value through the delivery of time-bound programme and project-based change for the benefit of Business Commercial Banking & Corporate Institutional Banking Business Units. We work diligently to make decisions real time on customer transactions to identify ways of improving the customer journey as well as making sure we meet regulatory directives. We offer customers education and awareness that is timely, tailored and effective to help keep them informed of the best products available to them. All of which will have you going home feeling that you've added true value to the customers we support!

The Project Manager is responsible for leading their delivery team to ensure the fundamentals of Project Management excellence are achieved. This includes analysis, governance, planning managing finances and delivering value. You should role model a desire to develop skills and experience, create space to learn and collaborate, demonstrate resilience and adaptability, confidence and the ability to innovate and test new insights. You will understand, embrace and be able to select with confidence the most appropriate tools and methods to deliver change. You should strive to establish relationships across role communities, change teams and business areas to increase opportunities for continuous improvement through shared findings.
Mentoring others in across the commercial change teams to achieve delivery excellence is also a key part of the role.

Key Capabilities:
Typical activities would include:
  • Produces a project or workstream plan defining the delivery achievements, tasks and activities. Understands the project critical path and how own area of responsibility impacts this. Monitors progress against project/workstream plan, identifies slippage and supports activity to recover.
  • Follows the appropriate elements of the LBG project delivery lifecycle, including completing formal reviews at appropriate points.
  • Delivers outcomes by leading others and working within established systems, building relationships with key stakeholders to support delivery.
  • Reports progress and status to the appropriate partners on a timely basis, including identification and monitoring of key risks and issues.
  • Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities. Supports the development of capabilities of the project team by working within existing development framework.
  • Implements appropriate project support processes to manage issues, identify and minimise risks, monitor dependencies and record assumptions.
  • Builds and maintains effective working and influencing relationships with appropriate colleagues.
