Job description
We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Lead Library Assistant to join our team on site in Stony Stratford Library.
You’ll be front of house directly helping people using the library, so excellent customer service skills are essential.
You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations within the library, occasionally working as a lone worker.
This is a part time role, working 29.5 hours per week pro rata and includes working every Saturday.
Role Responsibilities- Undertake counter and enquiry desk duties.
- Undertake administrative routines as required including banking procedures.
- Participate in training and supervision of library staff and volunteers
- Able to work with groups of children and deliver story times.
Ideal Candidate
- GCSE maths and English A-C grade or relevant experience to demonstrate adequate levels of literacy and numeracy.
- ECDL: or equivalent IT skills by relevant experience.
- Experience in customer care service in private or public sector.
- Good communication skills for customers and staff.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm and helpful manner.
