Available Job Today Lead Hardware Engineer

The Lead Hardware Engineer is required to motivate and supervise the project engineering team, work co-operatively with the Project Manager ensure smooth project progress in accordance with the agreed project lifecycle. Taking full responsibility for successful technical delivery of a complete project solution, to the agreed scope in accordance with company procedures, whilst meeting budgetary and time-scale targets.
The Lead Hardware Engineer is expected to be a committed and enthusiastic team member. They must be pro-active, and able to allocate tasks among team members as well as supervise, assist and monitor task progress.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist PM in development of QA plan
- Assist PM in continuous development of project Gannt chart
- Ongoing development & updating of detailed task & procurement lists
- Attend contract meetings with the project manager as required
- Lead technical meetings with the client as required
- Undertake or manage site survey if required
- Develop FDS & DDS – with input from project team as necessary
- Develop Test Specification & design testing methodology with team input as necessary
- Undertake & record ongoing Engineering Reviews throughout the project
- Develop sitework documentation with team input as necessary (Risk assessment, method statement, site test documentation)
- Peer review documents including electrical drawings created by the project team or other teams
- Coordinate and monitor hardware build activates in conjunction with Bilfinger workshops or third party suppliers.
- Undertake or manage setup of hardware for internal and client witnessed testing
- Develop hardware and software configurations required for internal and client witnessed testing of hardware deliverables
- Undertake or manage full integrated system testing
- Undertake or manage CFAT with client representatives
- Undertake or manage observation, variation and reworks
- Undertake or manage packing and shipping of the system hardware
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience of developing integrated control system solutions
- Detailed experience of the full project life cycle from system specification through design, development, testing and on-site commissioning
- Hands on experience of PLC systems
- A good appreciation of Control panels, electrical installation and Instrumentation solutions
Experience of some or all of the following is desirable:
- Full UK Driving license
- Plant Historians
- MES
- Network design and configuration
- Cyber Security
- Industrial Protocol Knowledge (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC etc)
- PLC code development using TIA Portal v16
- Electrical wiring regulations
