Job summary
We are looking for a lead graphic designer to bring to life our work in the form of digital assets. You’ll be able to conceptualise content ideas, working with the wider team on one off projects as well as campaigns. You should have strong attention to detail, develop a clear understanding of UKHSA brand guideline requirements and be able to tailor design to modern accessibility requirements whilst still producing vibrant, creative results.
We create lots of digital assets to support our handling of health incidents and emergencies. You’ll input on visualising health data, informing the public on a wide range of public health topics and explaining scientific information to a wide audience. We use these assets across our social channels and create packs for stakeholders. The role is fast-paced and you’ll be comfortable handling multiple projects at once, working closely with the graphic designer, senior creative manager and the wider comms team.
For larger projects, your work may involve assisting on planning and may include storyboarding, mood boards and overall technical delivery advice. You will have line management responsibility for the graphic designer post. We are a close knit team and you’ll have support and plenty of opportunity to discuss briefs and ideas, as well as take the space needed when working on bigger projects.
