The Omeda Journey so far
It was the 9th of June 2018. A man by the name of SergeantSmokie uploads a mysterious trailer on Reddit for a game called Predecessor. Some might recognise the assets, made freely available on UE. This was the promise of not just Paragon 2.0, but something more. Soon after the trailer, Fringe joins the ranks as voted by the community, and before we know it, Omeda is born.
Fast forward to 27th of January 2020. RGSACE gracefully accepts the helm of this studio. A popular streamer on the Paragon field, with his financial prowess he secures the funding ($2.2M Seed, and more recently $20M Series A) that Omeda needs to take off and thrive. Since then, Omeda has steadily grown an international team with a clear vision: Bring Predecessor to life.
And here's where you come in! We need an experienced Lead Gameplay Engineer like you to champion the Engineering discipline.
As a Lead Gameplay Engineer for Predecessor, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with a talented team of discipline leads, producers, designers, and artists. Together, you'll collaborate to deliver engaging and captivating gameplay features that truly resonate with our players.
In This Role You Will
- Manage, mentor, lead by example and advocate for a team of gameplay engineers
- Work with design, production, and other departments to manage the development and deployment of gameplay features
- Design, implement and champion new processes that improve the workflow and environment of your team
- Write and maintain technical documentation to improve your team's ability to work more effectively
- Drive recruitment, interview & grow the engineering team
- Writing robust, maintainable C++ and Blueprint logic
What We're Looking For
- Comfortable communicating with other team members on a daily basis
- Enthusiastic about mentoring and serving others to empower them to success
- Strong understanding of object orientated programming in a modern language (C++, C# etc)
- Excel at problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Keen eye for improving the workflow and environment of others
Nice to Have
- Unreal Engine Experience
- Multiplayer Development Experience (networking, server authoritative logic, client prediction, etc...)
- Gameplay Ability System Experience
