A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles. WHAT TO EXPECT We are searching for a Lead EDU Systems Engineer within Attributes and Integration, to help lead the definition, development and delivery of system solutions, integrating multiple interconnected subsystems to deliver the next generation of in-house manufactured Jaguar Land Rover Electric Drive Units for Jaguar and Land Rover BEV vehicles. This role is a central part of the EDU integration pillar, bringing together the output of the advanced engineering E-machines, Inverters, transmission and thermal systems teams to lead validation and delivery of the EDU at a whole-system level. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Delivery of systems within the Advanced Powertrain department across the range of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles following the Systems Engineering discipline outlined by the Jaguar Land Rover Product Creation & Delivery System process Contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis Provide technical support, issue resolution and objective data analysis across the operational team on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of interconnected components Work with the Technical on Roadmap Strategies, including new Function Definition and Failure Mode Avoidance WHAT YOU WILL NEED System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis, and to carry out a range of analysis and investigations of the customer requirements to define the required system functionalities and performance targets Evaluate system design concepts and maintain integrity between the system and its components to arrive at a harmonised solution System Physical and electrical architecture - Liaise with architecture teams to maintain alignment with the specified programmes System Design Specification - prepare system requirements specification and develop functional designs, demonstrating how the system satisfies the defined customer requirements System Integration - Define system logical and physical architecture, Interface Control Document and system integration plan. Verification and Validation - Design and deliver system integration test plan Lead cross-functional technical reviews on the systems Adhere to the defined systems engineering process Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential - Experience working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally Automotive Good knowledge of E-Machines / Inverters / Electric Drive Unit systems Experience in Requirements Management: System Functional Definition, System Architecture Development, Formal Requirements Specification, Systems Integration, System Analysis And Validation, Design/ Performance Modelling Degree equivalent in Relevant Engineering Discipline (Mechanical / Electrical / Controls) Desirable - Substantial experience in working practices relating to CAE methods and processes, e.g. Simulink / AMESim / GTcool Experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach A higher degree or PhD, with relevant industrial research, is preferred Model-based engineering (MBSE) & Structured requirements management toolset experience Knowledge and experience of working within scrum and agile for hardware and toolset / methodology delivery JLR
