Lead Ecotoxicologist
Position
Major Tasks:
- Overall accountable to ensure BCH products and their vast variety of ingredients ( 2,700) are safe to the environment
- Be accountable for the environmental risk assessment according to international guidelines (esp. EMA, EFSA and FDA) for BCH ingredients and products
- Deliver clear, well documented environmental safety prognoses and risk assessments on products throughout the innovative cycle and lifecycle management
- Monitor environmental fate and effects information and related policy/regulatory developments, trends, evaluate their impact on BCH products, and communicate with recommendations to stakeholders including RMSC LT and BCH ExCo
- Support of the global and local HSE functions and Product Supply in managing effluent quality of the world wide BCH production facilities
- Representation of Bayer in various international or European political panels assessing the environmental relevance of health products, supplements, and cosmetics that BCH markets worldwide
- Represents and drives Bayer s science based environmental strategy internally and externally with government, NGOs, industry, and academia to achieve overall company objectives on sustainability
Skills:
- PhD in Life Science, preferably biology, with a focus on ecotoxicology
- Knowledge and experience in experimental ecotoxicological studies, environmental risk assessment and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical and consumer product industry
- Experience in GLP
- Demonstrated skills in the analysis of complex data and in the development of problem solvent strategies
- Strong communication and partnership skills to enable seamless collaboration with stakeholders inside and outside the Company.
