The family run farming business is based in the heart of Pembrokeshire
The farm comprising approximately 750 acres. Currently the herd is autumn/winter calving. The herd average is 9500 litres per annum.
Cows are mainly fed on a TMR (total mixed ration). Milking is twice a day through a parlour 40 point internal rotary parlour.
We are looking to bring a lead dairy herdsperson to our dairy businesses in Pembrokeshire. We are interested in speaking with interested individuals who have the following experience.
- Lead point of contact for dairy shifts - the job role will specifically include leading one milking shift per day. Practical experience of milking, DIY AI, foot trimming, calving, managing calves and young stock, as well as general dairy shed duties from time to time.
- Working knowledge of – genetics, record keeping, hygiene standards, milk contract requirements, liaison with farm vet, timely delivery of vaccination program.
- Motivated and forward thinking with excellent attitude to health, safety, environment and animal welfare
- Flexible working approach to allow for farming calendar and leading others on farm, whilst maintaining no antibiotic failures, nil extraneous water and maintain Bactoscan and cell counts below agreed targets
- Excellent communication and organisational skills. Willingness to be involved in wider farm team activities to move whole farm business forward in positive manner embracing opportunities around diversity, carbon and innovative farm technologies
- Full UK driving license
3 bed family accommodation is included on top of the salary. Pay will be agreed to match individuals experience and suitability for our business.

Salary: £35,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
