Opportunity / Role:

As a lead engineer, your primary role will involve the management of project installations from start to finish. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of junior engineers, ensuring that each project is completed on time and within budget.

As a lead engineer, it is essential for you to possess a strong technical proficiency in Crestron, Lutron, and KNX hardware, alongside other home automation brands. Additionally, you should be well-versed in IT networks, CCTV, door entry systems, HVAC systems, and home cinema solutions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for the on-site construction team.
  • Reading and understanding design information provided.
  • Verifying the positioning and integrity of the first fix cabling.
  • Managing junior engineers to ensure their work meets our high standards.
  • Achieving an error-free installation, ready to collaborate with our commissioning team for project completion.
  • Updating documentation to reflect any client changes as the project progresses.
  • Keeping the project manager constantly informed about on-site progress.

Required Skills & Experience.

  • Good knowledge of market-leading smart home control systems, including Crestron, Savant, Control 4, Lutron, KNX, etc.
  • Good knowledge of CCTV and door entry systems.
  • Good knowledge of ICT systems (Cisco/Meraki/Ruckus/Ubiquiti).
  • Technically literate with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Disciplined and diligent with a keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills, capable of working to tight deadlines.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and create technical drawings and schematics
  • Ability to research and comprehend essential technical information.
  • Possess a full UK/European driving license (clean license preferred).

Vehicle & Tools

A company van will be provided with the option to also use it outside of working hours, the company will also provide you with all the tools required to carry out your role including a company laptop if required.

Holiday Entitlement

Your holiday entitlement would be 33 days paid holiday per calendar year, to include all standard public holidays of England + 5 compulsory days to be taken over the festive period the company shuts down for between Christmas Eve and our return to work in the New Year.

Where an additional one off national holiday arises, such as to celebrate an event, this will be given in addition to the 33 days at the Company’s discretion.

Salary: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
