As the Lead Airport Operations Manager (Lead AOM), you will lead a team of Airport Operations Managers who have overall accountability for the safety, security, and performance of Heathrow on a daily basis. The Lead AOM will provide structured leadership to motivate, mentor and coach the team in a challenging and busy operational environment.

Your role will involve:

• Driving punctuality and an effective operation ensuring success for the wider Heathrow.
• Building and maintaining external relationships with organisations such as Airport Police, UKBF and Team Heathrow Colleagues to leverage and secure the best service for the airport.
• Acting as the key support for the Airport Operations Manager (AOM) team during times of instability, disruption, and complex, high profile threat assessments.
• Helping drive a revised Target Operating model for Airport Operations Centre (APOC) to drive a collaborative and effective operating environment that improves airport performance.
• Working collaboratively within the Airport Operations Leadership team with colleagues from Airspace, Resilience and Airfield Operations to achieve the very best in operational excellence here at Heathrow.

These skills are essential:

• A valid UK driving licence.
• Highly effective team management and leadership skills.
• Demonstrate understanding of Airport Operations or have experience in a high-pressure operations environment.
• Demonstrable work exposure to assess risk, apply mitigations and demonstrate informed decision making.

Ideally, you will also have:

• Conversant with command & control structures/crisis management.
• Strong ability to manage in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with impact and influence at a senior level.
