Real Estate Law Clerk/Legal Assistant - 1 year Contract (maternity leave coverage)

Details:

We are a boutique legal firm in North York (TTC accessible convenient location).

We are looking for a Residential Real Estate Clerk/Legal Assistant with at least 2 years of experience and ability to handle all aspects of residential purchase, sale, and mortgage real estate transactions with limited supervision, including performing a sub-search of title and off-title searches.

It's one year contract to cover maternity leave with the possibility of extension or transfer to a full time position.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to be flexible, time conscious with regards to deadlines, work well under pressure independently and in a team environment. We are looking for someone who has a great attitude, is motivated, organized, has attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepare and register various documents in Teraview including Transfers, Charges, Easements, Notices, Discharges etc.

· Communicate with clients to take instructions, obtain information, and report on status

· Prepare documents and letters regarding real estate matters/transactions

· Organize/collect document materials for Residential and Commercial Real Estate deals and summarize this information

· Create reporting letters and reports

· Close completed files, keep files organized and accessible

· Handle routine administrative details

· Other general duties as required

Qualifications:

· A diploma in a related Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk program or equivalent years of experience

· At least 2+ year of experience in a similar position in a Real Estate Law practice

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Conveyancer, PC Law and Teraview

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

· Dependability, accuracy, and efficiency

· Excellent organizational, computer, communication (oral and written) skills

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

· Strong experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel

· Experience in Teraview, Conveyancer, LawyerDoneDeal, and PC Law

· Ability to liaise with legal assistants, law clerks, lawyers, clients, and mortgage brokers

· Ability to work with a file from start to finish, to take the initiative, prioritize and multitask

· Knowledge of Russian is an asset
