Responsibilities:
Legal Submissions & Documents
Preparing submissions, correspondence, reports, memoranda, opinions, briefing notes, etc. related to civil litigation and dispute resolution matters
Creating factual timelines
Compiling documents referred to in legal submissions and preparing submission packages
Compiling Books of Documents, e.g., securing PDFs, putting in tab pages, and printing
Drafting third-party retainer agreements and engagement letters
Processing incoming documents consistent with GB Law's internal procedures
Service, Filing & Follow Up
Serving and filing court documents and preparing affidavits of service
Serving and filing notices of objection, notices of appeal, motions, etc.
Scheduling examinations for discovery
Preparing correspondence to clients and keeping clients informed about the latest developments in their cases
Booking court reporters and ordering transcripts
Following up with clients and third parties to gather the information we need to build our cases
Ordering couriers and mailing letters
Performing other duties to contribute to the firm’s continued growth and success
Timeline Management & Calculations
Recording important dates and information in our practice management system and tools
Calculating deadlines using GB Law's Project Management Timeline to calculate internal and external deadlines and entering data into GB Law's practice management system
Qualities & Skills (Required)
