We seek a highly motivated Legal Assistant/Law Clerk to join our growing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Opening and closing files, billing, etc.
- Schedule in-office and teleconference appointments
- Detailed file organization – paper and electronic filing
- Communicating with clients and other professionals by phone and email
- Work independently to manage and prepare real estate files for closing
- Maintaining lawyer’s calendar and an effective BF system
- Ordering title and off-title searches, payout statements and municipal searches
- Following up on undertakings and outstanding items on files
- Finalizing reports – to clients and financial institutions
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Law Clerk/Legal Assistant Diploma
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in real estate law
- Strong knowledge of Teraview and Unity
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Professional client and telephone manner and a proven track record of working with confidential information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to organize the workload effectively
- Ability to maintain excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Positive work ethic
- Ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
- Wills and Estates knowledge is considered an asset
We offer a salary commensurate with experience.
This is an “in-office” position. This position does not offer remote work unless circumstances warrant such work.

Salary: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
