Job Description: Corporate Law Clerk
We are seeking a Corporate Law Clerk to be part of a growing and dynamic legal team. The successful candidate would be an energetic, dedicated and hardworking professional who is looking to experience progressive career growth and gain valuable learning experiences as the company continues to grow.
Candidates with at least 5+ years of corporate law experience, strong work ethic, and excellent people skills are what we are looking for.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Maintain minute books and prepare related documents.
- Prepare correspondence and letters to clients; maintain professional communication.
- Liase with lawyers and accountants.
- Prepare legal documents, accounts and reports for a variety of law offices.
- Coordinate and draft corporate resolutions, notices, agreements and other documents in connection with corporate transactions.
- Experience with domestic and foreign extra-provincial registrations and licenses are an asset.
- Ability to take carriage of asset and share purchase and sale transactions.
- Maintain filing system and databases.
- Perform corporate and due diligence searches online as requested.
Knowledge and Skills
Education:
Legal Assistant/Law Clerk Diploma from an accredited institution.
Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Corporate Paraprofessional.
- Extensive knowledge of OBCA, CBCA, CIA.
- Excellent knowledge of corporate procedures.
- A professional attitude with strong communication skills.
- Focus on client-service and building relationships.
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Candidate must be extremely detail-oriented.
