- Monitor the due list for all patent deadlines and send appropriate reminders
- Open, prepare, file and report Canadian patent applications
- Review, check, docket and report official correspondence from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office
- Attend to, review, and report various stages of patent prosecution
- Interact with CIPO with respect to administrative matters to facilitate ongoing prosecution of patent applications
- Keep up-to-date on changes in patent law including internal procedural requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant patent experience with advanced knowledge in Canadian prosecution from a law firm and/or in-house experience
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Strong organizational skills in planning and prioritizing work, multi-tasking and attention to details
- Ability to succeed in a multi-disciplinary team and to work independently with minimal supervision
- Adaptability to ever changing priorities and deadlines
