St Michaels Rest Home is proud to announce the new opening of a Linen/Laundry Assistant vacancy within our team. St Michaels is part of Imperial Health Care UK LTD. Sister home to Jubilee Court and Homelea. Here at St Michaels we run a 40 bed accommodation in Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, housed on a beautiful location with an adjoining extension. We offer our residents a stimulating variety of activities in a comfy environment equipped with modern amenities, a sensory garden and 24-hour care, personalised for every resident. Our dedicated and compassionate care teams provide 24/7 onsite, residential care, Palliative care, dementia care and respite care, in intimate and modern surroundings.
About the role
We're looking for someone with experience, ideally, who can work from 14.00pm to 18.00pm, although we'll provide great training for this role. You'll also need excellent time management and organisational skills. Beyond that, it's all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. So you'll be a brilliant communicator who's as skilled at listening as well as taking and giving instructions. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or co-worker, you'll be truly considerate and kind.
About you
- To ensure the laundry of residents clothing is to the highest standard, including ironing.
- Ensure the laundry is collected and returned to the correct area of the home on a regular basis, and personal clothing of residents is put away in a neat and tidy manner.
- Ensure that all residents’ wardrobes and clothing drawers are kept clean, neat and tidy.
- Ensure that the laundry equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition.
- Report any defects to the Care Home Manager or maintenance person.
- To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
- To comply with COSHH regulations.
- To ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment.
- To follow the correct use of colour code systems within the home
- To ensure all necessary documentation is completed daily.
- To maintain standards of infection control within the laundry area and generally within the home and to assist residents to maintain their own infection control needs.

Salary will start at £9.50 per hour
