£11.00 per hour (£22880 p/a based upon a 40-hour working week)
We are seeking to recruit a Laundry Assistant to join our friendly team at Clann House
Westheath Care Homes (Staffing) Ltd provides care staff to five care homes owned and operated by a private company they are located in Bodmin, Lanivet, Lewannick (Nr Launceston) and Bude area.
All of which have obtained and maintained a ‘Good’ CQC rating.
We provide high standards of person-centred care to a wide range of elderly and disabled people from St Austell on the South coast to Bude on the North coast with a dedicated team of Care assistants and a strong team of experienced managers that have a high number of years in working in care. An interview and an Enhanced DBS check will be carried out by the company on you prior to final confirmation of a job offer (this will be paid for by the company - but maybe repaid to the company should you leave within a 3-month period), you will be enrolled into our induction programme this will be followed by shadow shifts, enabling you to become confident in your new role.
Objectives of the job-
Ensure the laundry is collected, washed, dried, and returned to the correct area of the home, clients personal clothing is put away correctly and neatly.
Assist with general duties on the floor.
Ensure the home is kept tidy and hygienically clean.
To be aware of the guidelines relating to the use of cleaning checklists and use them as appropriate.
Be responsible for the safe storage and handling of chemicals and fully knowledgeable of the COSHH regulations and data sheets pertaining to all of the chemicals at all times while carrying out your duties - never leave chemicals unattended as they could be dangerous to other persons.
Ensure that correct usage of all colour coded cleaning equipment is followed.
To report and record to maintenance (book in office) any defects, faults or problems with fixtures/fittings or equipment you may find while in the course of your duties.
Ensure all health, safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained.
To ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment
Ensure that the laundry equipment is correctly and safely used.

In return, you can expect competitive rates of pay, a minimum number of contracted hours per week and holiday entitlement of an equivalent to 6 x your weekly hours of annual leave per employment year.
