The Role – Machinist / Centre Lathe Turner
As a Machinist / Centre Lathe Turner, you’ll be able to turn your hand to working on conventional Centre Lathes. Working as part of a dynamic, hands-on team within a busy environment, you will work on a wide range of projects for customers in a variety of industries, working with different materials from stainless steel to plastic and aluminum. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:
Requirements:
- Operating Centre Lathes
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Working to tight tolerances
- Highlighting and communicating issues that may arise
- Ensuring that health, safety and quality standards are complied with
Experience:
- Solid experience as a Turner gained within a commercial engineering workshop
- Ability to screw cut internal and external threads and turn and mill where necessary
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic, hands on team
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines

- Centre Lathe Turner: 1 year (required)
- Machining: 1 year (preferred)
