Pay Grade/Pay Range: $20.57/hour
Department/Organization: 504103 - Grounds
Normal Work Schedule: 6:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.
Job Summary: Performs grounds keeping duties and assists with supervision of other groundskeeping employees in department. Must drive from site to site.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. A minimum of three (3) year experience as a Groundskeeper. Must have ability to operate a variety of tools, equipment and machinery used in grounds keeping operations. Successful completion of a grounds management certificate program is preferred. Must be able to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials and supplies of the job. Must be able to perform those items in the Job Summary and in Essential functions. Must have the ability to use job-related tools and equipment and chemical supplies. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice. This position will often require long days, on your feet, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying. Over 8-hour days may be required based on the condition of the grounds and campus event schedules. This position will be required to work during all climates of weather, hot, cold rain, etc., depending on season. Works at a series of assigned locations on job related activities. Must meet regular attendance requirements. Must accomplish the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely manner. Closely observes and adheres to all safety rules and regulations as listed on product and equipment labels and as directed by management. Leaves work site clean and orderly; ensures that all tools and equipment are cleaned, and materials are secured. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with university policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
