The Opportunity
We currently have a range of mid-level to senior roles for Landscape Architects and Planners to join our growing team in the West. Our constantly growing portfolio of work includes a wide range of work including Integrated landscape and public realm projects, coastal defence schemes, water projects focusing on flood resilience, Green and Blue Infrastructure projects, residential developments and nationally significant infrastructure projects.
You will be working alongside an unrivalled community of experts, who will support and nurture your growth from the outset. The Arup portfolio is exciting and diverse, exposing you to a range of project scales and types, each offering their own opportunities for personal development and training. You will have the opportunity to help in generating social value and tangible benefits through landscape design. As part of the wider Cities, Planning and Design portfolio you will benefit from an integrated interdisciplinary approach to projects.
Is this role right for you?
Successful candidates should be keen to work within a team and confident in presenting and resolving complex design issues.
We are seeking a range of skills and experience outlined below. We are keen to hear from a variety of applicants with interest in landscape design and/or landscape planning. Candidates are expected to have;
- A degree and/or a post graduate diploma or MA in Landscape Architecture.
- Enthusiasm for designing landscapes using Nature-based Solutions
- Experience in preparation of high-quality bid submissions along with involvement on scope and fee proposals for a wide range of landscape work.
- Exceptional design skills with a people/nature approach ranging from feasibility studies with strong concept design skills through to technical awareness in the detail design of landscape and public realm; and/or
- Demonstrable experience in scoping and authoring of landscape, townscape and/or seascape assessments as appraisals and ES chapters;
We use a variety of tools depending on the project and stage: Hand sketching, Adobe Photoshop/ InDesign/Illustrator, AutoCAD, SketchUp, REVIT, Rhino, ArcGIS, MS Office. We would love to see how you communicate.
The roles are open to our Bristol and Cardiff offices with a hybrid working model and a fantastic chance to work on both domestic and international projects. There may be travel to sites and offices across the UK and occasionally abroad so you will need to hold a UK driving license.
