What's the role about?

Herbert Parkinson General Operatives are specialists in the design and manufacture of soft furnishing products. This role requires someone who is motivated and proactive with an excellent eye for detail and someone who is a great team player. You will be labouring in a warehouse environment, sorting duck feather bales and loading into the hopper. You will ensure machines are constantly running, along with other labouring and packing duties, while achieving the department requirements on performance, efficiency and quality.

Please note that due to the size of some of our products, this role involves some heavy lifting, and spending a lot of time on your feet working with duck and goose feathers.

What you will be doing?

As a filled products labourer you will be:

• Labouring across both the duvet and cushion depts; dealing with feather deliveries, sorting and loading safely into the hoppers using the equipment available.

• Supporting the team by filling and packing when required.

• Maintaining high levels of housekeeping in your immediate work area.

• Flexible and move tasks throughout the shift as work dictates.

• Supporting other sections within the department as and when required.

• Performing any other duties as required by managers.

• Contributing to a safe working environment by being up to date on all H&S training requirements

What else can you bring?

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or production environment

• Forklift truck experience but in house training will be required and provided.
