Labourer - Accommodation

We are looking to recruit a Labourer to join our Glasgow Depot, working in our accommodation division.

Contract type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full Time

Job Role

• Ensuring workshop area / canteen / washrooms / yard area are kept clean and tidy at all times as per basic Health & Safety guidelines
• Ensuring company assets are stored in the allocated areas as shown on each Depot Layout Plan.
• Where applicable, painting plant, accommodation units and vehicles.
• Emptying rubbish bins on a daily basis.
• Washing down incoming plant units etc, recording details of excessively dirty items to ensure customers can be charged accordingly.
• Moving cabins as required - with forklift.
• Delivering / collecting items to or from sites or suppliers.
• Liaising with Stores Department to ensure adequate levels of cleaning equipment etc. are maintained.

General:

• Complying with Company Policies and Procedures and upholding the Nixon Hire Values at all times.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and timely manner without risk to yourself and others whether on site or at a depot in line with the company’s Health & Safety Directives, Method Statements and procedure.
• Wearing appropriate safety clothing and using safety equipment to complete the task undertaken in the working environment in accordance with the company’s P.P.E requirements.
• Maintaining a safe and hazard free work area be it on customer site or within Nixon Hire premises.
• Checking company vehicles before use and driving in a safe and courteous manner, along with timely reporting of any vehicle defects.
• Reporting any accidents (person, property or vehicles) via the Accident / Incident report system.
• Complying with all Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
