Single Homeless Project has a new opportunity for a Floating Support Worker. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £23,246.32 - £26,193.12 per annum plus benefits.
SHP Islington Floating Support Service is funded by Islington Borough to provide holistic, dynamic support to residents of Islington, including those who may be placed in neighbouring Boroughs.
The aim of the general service is to assist and support young people who are moving into independence to manage their tenancies and offer high quality housing related support to young people aged 16-25, in their homes and in the community, in order to improve their quality of life and to increase their level of protection from risk.
About the role of a Floating Support Worker:
Using a psychologically informed and trauma informed framework, the floating support worker will focus on tenancy sustainment. They will also work alongside external agencies to ensure there is a multi-disciplinary approach.
Working within SHP’s policy and procedural framework, the worker will carry out a comprehensive assessment of needs and risks in agreed timescales. On-going high quality support plans & risk assessments will then be drafted and reviewed on a regular basis.
What we're looking for in our Floating Support Worker:
- An understanding of the principles underlying a quality service and participation of clients to continuously improve the service.
- Understanding and experience of working with the issues faced by young people including care leavers who may experience mental ill health, substance use issues, and who may have offending histories, in accessing the appropriate support from services.
- Ability to develop relationships with people who find it difficult to engage.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and positively influence a variety of audiences, including senior officers and multi-agency partners, both verbally and in writing.
- High level of personal organisation with the ability to plan and prioritise own work
