Part-time 2.5 days East Kent
Fixed term until 1st April 2025
This service will provide therapeutically informed support to children and young people (CYP) who will present with risk episodes related to their complex and crisis care needs. The support will include their families and/or networks.
The service will work with the existing multi-agency network to reduce placement/family breakdown, and the need for more specialist provision, whilst enabling CYP to remain involved in their local communities, supporting the development of resilience, promoting participation, enhancing support networks and improving well-being.
The postholder will be highly skilled and experienced in engaging creatively with CYP through diverse and alternative/recreational therapeutic approaches. They will also be competent at assessing and managing risk effectively.

Qualifications Required
Degree level qualification (or academic equivalent) in related area.
Desirable: Relevant qualification or evidence of training in any of the following:
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Non-Violent Resistance
- Trauma informed practice
- Restorative Practice
Skills & Experience Required
Experience of meaningful engagement with CYP and their families, particularly in times of crisis.
Experience of assessing and mitigating risk.
Experience of de-escalating potentially volatile situations.
Experience of working effectively with multi-agency partners to improve outcomes.
Experience of working to safeguard young people.
A good understanding of agencies and support available for families in Kent.
Strong organisational ability including ability to plan workload and manage own time effectively.
A high level of written and verbal presentation skills and ICT skills.
Knowledge of the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma informed practice.
Knowledge of emotional well-being and mental health for children and young people.
A clear understanding of Safeguarding and Data Protection legislation.
An ability to remain calm whilst working under pressure and within tight timescales on sensitive and confidential issues.
To be creative and proactive, able to use initiative and make sound judgements.
An ability to deal with a number of tasks at once and to be flexible with work routines.
A positive outlook and a result focused approach.
To work effectively as part of a team.
