Job description

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
• Perform general construction duties such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
• Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters or bricklayers, with their tasks.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, removing obstacles, and setting up temporary structures.
• Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies from delivery vehicles.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with the team to complete tasks efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment, reporting any defects or malfunctions to the appropriate person.
• Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and supervisors regarding work progress and any issues that may arise.
• Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, ensuring work is completed on schedule.
• Assist with the setup and dismantling of scaffolding, as required.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
• Previous experience in a similar general labourer role is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
• Own personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety boots, high-visibility vest, and hard hat.
• Flexibility to work overtime or on weekends, as needed.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a construction environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months

Salary: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Wolverhampton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

• CSCS (required)
• Driving Licence (preferred)
