Job Description: Junior Laborer (Carpet Cleaning Focus)
Position Overview:
As a Junior Laborer specialising in carpet cleaning, you will be responsible for assisting in various tasks related to carpet cleaning jobs. Your primary role will be to support the team of professionals by performing physical labor, operating equipment, and ensuring efficient and effective carpet cleaning services. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the cleaning industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with Carpet Cleaning Tasks: Work alongside experienced carpet cleaning technicians to execute various cleaning tasks such as pre-inspection, vacuuming, spot treatment, stain removal, and steam cleaning.
2. Equipment Operation: Learn and operate carpet cleaning equipment, including carpet extractors, steam cleaners, and other specialized tools. Follow proper procedures and safety guidelines while operating equipment.
3. Material Preparation: Assist in preparing cleaning solutions, diluting detergents, and mixing chemicals according to the prescribed ratios. Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available for each job.
4. Furniture Moving: Assist in moving furniture, appliances, and other items as necessary to facilitate carpet cleaning. Exercise caution to prevent damage to the property or belongings.
5. Preparing Job Sites: Help in preparing the work area by removing debris, clearing obstacles, and protecting surfaces from potential damage during the cleaning process.
6. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. Address their questions, concerns, and provide assistance when needed.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and longevity.
8. Adherence to Safety Procedures: Follow safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe and hazard-free work environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the cleaning crew, technicians, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of assigned tasks. Assist team members as needed and participate in team meetings or training sessions.
10. Learning and Growth: Continuously improve your knowledge and skills related to carpet cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and industry best practices. Seek guidance from senior team members to enhance your expertise.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various environments.
