Lab Technician – Cell Culture Development

We are currently looking to recruit a Cell Culture Development (CCD) Technician to join our well-established Development Services team. The role of the technician is to support laboratory activities with practical tasks to a high standard. Good attention to detail and getting things right first time is essential. Work is performed according to protocol in compliance with cGMP rules and procedures. The individual maintains their training and skills to effectively carry out their duties and has a track-record of learning additional skills. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Cell Culture team at Lonza, and will give you exposure to working with new, novel technologies within the biotechnology field. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
NB: For this role you will need to be eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Key responsibilities:
- Adherence to good laboratory practice including cGMP where applicable.
- Co-ordinate servicing of equipment and other external services.
- Equipment preparation, monitoring, calibration and safety.
- Laboratory Readiness (cleaning, tidying, safety tasks, deliveries, completion of log books).
- Preparation of media, feeds, buffers, reagents.
- Maintaining stock levels of consumables.
- Completion and peer review of laboratory documentation.
Key Skills:
- BSc in relevant scientific/technical field preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact and deal with internal stakeholders.
- Integrity with positive can-do attitude essential.
- Independent Learning: Self-directed in learning.
- An eye for process/continuous improvement.
- Flexible to work outside of core business hours (if required).
