Full-time: 35 hours per week
Fixed-term for 4 years (anticipated start of June 2023)
We are looking for a creative, hard‑working, and organized Laboratory Technician to join the newly‑formed Anderson Lab within the Centre for Inflammation Research and Institute for Regeneration & Repair to study host‑microbe communication during injury and repair.
The Opportunity:
This is a 4‑year (with a possibility to extend), full‑time technician position to work in the group of Dr. CJ Anderson. The technician role will offer a unique mix of utilising inter‑disciplinary scientific techniques, applying organizational skills to help establish the infrastructure of the laboratory, and developing managerial and administrative capabilities. This post is funded by a Wellcome Trust Career Development Award (£2.3 million, 2023‑2031).
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Have initiative, creativity, and effective organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to promote and facilitate highly effective teamwork.
- Willingness to learn new techniques.
- Technical experience with fundamental laboratory techniques such as nucleic acid extraction, PCR, Western blot, and qPCR.
- Technical experience with mammalian cell culture and/or bacterial cell culture.
