Our vision is a world in which everyone is empowered to manage their health and well-being by having access to real time, personal health information. We are working to transform the lives of millions of people worldwide with kidney or heart disease by enabling blood electrolyte monitoring by anyone, anywhere.

We have a growing portfolio of IP based around our sensing technology and our focus is on taking these new technologies from the lab bench through to product design, manufacturing, regulatory approval and & commercialisation worldwide.

We are a venture-backed company embarking on a new phase of growth. Our management team brings together many decades of clinical, scientific, engineering and commercial experience and we are looking for talented and motivated new team members who share our vision of improving healthcare worldwide.

Kalium Health is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and are proud to promote an inclusive working environment.

The role
We are now seeking an experienced technician who can carry out assembly and testing of prototype medical devices.

We are looking for someone to:

  • Carry out precise assembly of sensor components in batches of hundreds.
  • Set up and use test equipment including mechanical fixtures, electronic measurement instruments and software programs.
  • Carry out inspection and measurement of small components.
  • Follow laboratory test protocols.
  • Carry out functional testing of sensors. This will involve testing laboratory standard fluids and, on occasion, animal and human blood in small quantities.

We expect you to have experience of working in a chemistry or biology lab environment. You must be familiar with general laboratory procedures and safe working practices and you must have experience of working with chemicals.

Our work involves handling small components that we manufacture in-house. Therefore, we are looking for someone with an eye for detail who can work precisely and methodically.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including scientists, engineers and technicians and clear verbal and written communication will be necessary.

You will be part of an exciting journey as we develop ground-breaking new medical devices and this role will give you exposure to every stage of the product development lifecycle. Your role will grow as the company grows and alongside developing new technology you will help to shape our working practices and team culture.

  • Flexible working policy based around core hours.
  • Regular performance appraisals and annual pay reviews.
  • Professional training and support to develop in your role.
  • Spacious, newly refurbished offices and labs at Cambridge Future Business Centre with on-site café, community events and networking.
  • Cycle parking and shower facilities and on-site car parking.
