The Role
Our exciting and forward thinking publishing business is seeking an Editor to lead our Media Team, delivering our popular online daily news publications.
The purpose of the role is to inform and influence the legal sector by being the ‘voice’ of the industry and is ideal for somebody who is looking for the next step in their writing and journalism career with opportunities to grow and develop within our business.
The Editor will ensure that we focus on the important and relevant stories of the day and deliver our quota of news stories expected. The stories will curated through a mix of original articles and submitted PR; with careful editing and proof-reading in line with SEO.
They play a pivotal role in building relationships with industry bodies, regulators, influential figures within the industry and the readerships, bringing relevant news and insight to our stories. They will understand the internal workings of the legal sector to enable the production of exceptional news and feature stories relevant to the readership.
The Editor also plays a crucial role in managing our daily and weekly online newsletters and social media, ensuring our output reflects the key stories of the moment and engaging our growing audiences in discussion and comment.
We are an outcomes-based business, the typical outcomes of this role are:
- Being at the forefront of industry news to keep practitioners informed of the very latest insight
- Ensuring our output articulates the discussions and debates around the profession and positions our publications as voices of expertise and authority.
- Building and nurturing relationships with industry experts/leaders, organisations and professionals in their respective fields of expertise
- Providing a platform for partners to educate and advertise their products and expertise to practitioners
- Being the voice of our ‘go to’ news outlets for legal services.
As one of the most important outwardly facing roles in the business the Media Team must be dedicated to being at the forefront of industry discussion and sentiment; understanding the nuances of daily news and the impact on the legal profession and being a recognised writer in the publication field.
Today's Media has embraced home working and all our team now work from home permanently. We are regularly in touch as a team through Microsoft365 and arrange regular get togethers.
As a small team we have a "can-do" approach with everybody pitching in to support one another.
