Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting Laboratory Technicians to join their manufacturing company based in the Cardiff area.
Our client is a busy aircraft manufacturer. As such, they are looking to add new members of staff to their team. This role requires a high level of attention, accuracy and a previous working history in this role is desirable.
The Laboratory Technician role is a generalist Laboratory role, conducting day to day testing and monitoring of the chemical production environment as per the testing schedules. Working with the team, the Laboratory Technician will perform the day to day testing and monitoring of samples; escalating issues and concerns as per the escalation process.
Following the agreed testing guidelines as set out within departmental policy, procedures and operational practices, the laboratory technician is responsible to monitor and communicate results from testing in order that technical issues can be prevented and that the environment can be closely monitored to address issues in a timely manner.
This role is vital to support production quality and plating performance for the volume of work as per requirements.
Contract: This is a temporary on-going position which could lead to permanent for the right candidates.
Salary: £23,924 per annum
Shifts: 38 hour week- Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm
Friday 8am to 2pm Days
Requirements
· Ability to work methodically and systematically in an industrial laboratory environment
· Ability to track and record data using relevant software and systems
· A customer focussed “Can-Do” attitude (internal customers – production, quality etc)
· Efficient and effective working – managing time to prioritise important deadlines
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills – working with others to provide the information they need to complete laboratory tasks and eliminate production delays
· Ability to work as part of a team – working flexibly and collaboratively to solve technical issues and exceed departmental targets
· Ability to follow and work within laboratory processes and procedures – exercising sound judgement at all times; suggesting operating improvements to support team delivery
· Sound literacy and numerical skills
· Personal ownership and responsibility for being professional, punctual, consistent and reliable
Experience
· Previous experience working in a laboratory within a production environment (required)
· Experience working methodically and systematically within a science environment (required)
· Experience working in a metallurgical environment (desirable)
· Experience working with scientific data - analysing and monitoring Data
Start Date: ASAP
